Sotheby’s New York Exhibition
Giselle was honored to have her charcoal works curated into the combined 17th/18th International ARC Salon Exhibition hosted by Sotheby’s New York in 2026. Giselle was invited to have her works included in this exhibition by the Art Renewal Center, one of the leading international competitions dedicated to contemporary realism.
Giselle’s work received placement awards in the 17th and 18th International ARC Salon Competitions, including 1st Place in the Teens Category in the 18th International ARC Salon Competition for her charcoal portrait Happy 100th Birthday Great Grandma Dot!
This exhibition marks another important milestone in Giselle’s growth as a young realist artist, placing her work among selected international artists in a respected New York exhibition setting.
Lunar Codex
Giselle’s works Little Muse and Dad’s Portrait were selected for inclusion in the Lunar Codex, a global archive of human creativity being preserved on the Moon. The project includes cultural work from more than 50,000 creators representing countries, territories, and Indigenous nations around the world.
Her selected pieces are part of the Polaris Collection, scheduled for a future Lunar Codex mission targeting launch in late 2026. Through this honor, Giselle’s artwork becomes part of a historic cultural time capsule designed to preserve human creativity for generations far beyond our own.
Samuel Peralta of the Lunar Codex had this to say about Giselle’s artwork: “You look at the skill that this artist has … not just in reproducing the subject matter, but also in creating a character and creating an emotion with that figure. It’s not nearly a photograph. It’s also creating a circumstance where there’s emotion, and I think that was what captured me particularly about those works.”

Congressional Art Competition
Giselle V. Brown was selected as the 2024 Congressional Art Competition Winner for New Jersey District 1 for her charcoal portrait Little Muse. As the district winner, her artwork was included in a one-year exhibition in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
In recognition of this achievement, Giselle received an Outstanding Achievement Award presented for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition, recognizing her as a Congressional District Winner. The honor marked an important milestone for Little Muse, a deeply personal portrait of her younger sister that became one of Giselle’s most recognized early works.
Giselle was also honored with a Mayoral Proclamation to honor her for this outstanding accomplishment.
Portrait Society of America
This competition is widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious competitions for portrait & figurative artists. It has attracted thousands of entries from accomplished professional & emerging artists from around the world.
Giselle V. Brown was selected as a finalist in the Portrait Society of America’s 27th annual international portrait competition, The International. At only 16 years old, she was one of just 19 finalists selected worldwide, placing her work among a highly competitive group of portrait artists from around the globe.
In addition to being named a finalist, Giselle was also recognized as an Exceptional Merit Award recipient. Reaching this level at such a young age, is a rare accomplishment and signals artistic ability that is well beyond her years.
This recognition marked a remarkable achievement in Giselle’s development as a young artist, further establishing her work within the field of contemporary portraiture and realism.
